Faber returns to battle “Bruce Leroy”

After losing his last fight to Renan Barao, Urijah Faber will return to the cage at UFC 175 against Alex Caceres.

“The California Kid” has struggled in recent years in trying to capture a gold strap, but he has never lost in his career in a non-title fight. On the other hand, Cacares had a rocky start to his UFC career, but has gone 4-0 (1) in his last five fights.

UFC 175 takes place on July 5 in Las Vegas.

Quick turn around for Palelei

Fresh off of his victory last weekend over Ruan Potts, Soa Palelei already has his next opponent lined up.

“The Hulk” will take on Jared Rosholt at UFC Fight Night 43 in Auckland, New Zealand on June 28.

Palelei has gone a perfect 3-0 while fighting inside the Octagon, while Rosholt has gone 2-0.

Two bouts added to UFC on Fox 12

It will be a featherweight affair when Steven Siler meets Noad Lahat,  when the UFC rolls back into California later this year.

Siler has gone 5-3 during his time inside the Octagon, and came to the promotion through The Ultimate Fighter reality show.  His opponent, Lahat, was a perfect 7-0 before he stepped into the Octagon for the first time; however, he lost in that debut performance by first-round knockout.

Additionally, light heavyweight Kyle Kingsbury has decided not to retire and will also fight on the card as well.  As of now, there is no opponent officially scheduled to oppose Kingsbury.

UFC on Fox 12 will take place on July 26 from San Jose, Calif.

Tavares replaced by Backstrom in Berlin

Thiago Tavares has been forced off of the card with an injury and Niklas Backstrom will now take on Tom Niinimaki when the UFC returns to Germany later this month.

Backstrom will be making his UFC debut after holding an undefeated record of 7-0 (1) with other promotions. In five of the seven victories, the Swede has finished his opponent. Meanwhile, Niinimaki was victorious in his UFC debut his last time out, winning by split decision over Rani Yahya.

UFC Fight Night 41 takes place on May 31 from Berlin, Germany.
