UFC 172 drug tests come back clean

Every fighter on the UFC 172 card underwent drug testing after last month’s UFC 172 event, and all tests came back negative, according to the Maryland State Athletic Commission. UFC light-heavyweight champion Jon Jones, co-main event winner Anthony Johnson, and Jim Miller were among the winners tested, as were Glover Teixeira, Andre Fili, and Tim Boetsch. The event marked the promotion’s debut in the state of Maryland.

Henrique da Silva vs. Magny added to UFC Fight Night 43 in New Zealand

Fresh off of a UFC Fight Night 40 win over Tim Means, Neil Magny now knows his next opponent. The Ultimate Fighter 16 alum will see action at UFC Fight Night 43 in New Zealand against Claudio Henrique da Silva. The former middleweight, who scored a win over Brad Scott in his last fight, now drops to welterweight for this contest.

Bermudez vs.Guida booked for July’s UFC on FOX 12 event

Dennis Bermudez and Clay Guida will battle in featherweight action when UFC on Fox 12 comes to San Jose this summer. Guida comes off of a win in a Fight of The Night victory over Tatsuya Kawajiri. Meanwhile, the TUF 14 standout and New York-bred featherweight Bermudez stopped Jimy Hettes at UFC 171 in Dallas.

WSOF 10 adds DeAnda-Mladenov

WSOF 10 will emanate on June 21 at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, and the bout lineup now stands at 13 bouts with the announcement of Angel DeAnda vs. Krasimir Mladenov. DeAnda suffered a defeat to one Tyrone Spong in his last WSOF outing. Mladenov stands at 10-0 and scored a decision win in his WSOF debut, topping  Kendrick Miree at WSOF 3.

Troeng faces Smith at UFN Ireland

Despite various injury reports, Bruno Santos will still face Chris Camozzi. Instead, Trevor Smith will face The Ultimate Fighter 17’s Tor Troeng when the UFC returns to Ireland two weeks later. Smith and Troeng will look to rebound from recent defeats, with Troeng coming off of a loss to Rafael Natal, and Smith losing to Thales Leites in Abu Dhabi.

Newcomers Shockley,  Saggo debut at UFC 174 in Vancouver

Two lightweights will make their UFC debuts as Duneland Vale Tudo product Josh Shockley and Ontario native Jason Saggo get set to meet at UFC 174 in Vancouver on June 14. Shockley, a veteran of Bellator MMA, owns five wins in his six most recent bouts. Saggo’s lone defeat came via split-decision in 2011 to current UFC talent Jesse Ronson, but since the loss, Saggo has stopped his last four foes.

Markes joins WSOF as a light heavyweight

Ronny Markes has signed with the World Series of Fighting as a light-heavyweight. Markes, who signed on to the UFC as a light-heavyweight, missed weight before suffering a defeat to Thiago Santos last March. He now joins Tyrone Spong, Angel DeAnda, and Mike Kyle, among others in the WSOF light-heavyweight division.
