Bisping vs. Le, Lombard vs. Kim Headline UFC’s Return to China on Aug. 23

A middleweight contest between Michael Bisping and former Strikeforce champ Cung Le is expected to headline UFC Fight 48. The event will be the UFC’s third trip to Macau. Bisping is coming off a loss to Tim Kennedy while Le won in his last outing, but hasn’t competed since 2012.

Also on the card will be a welterweight clash between former Bellator middleweight champ Hector Lombard and Dong Hyun Kim.

Robbie Lawler and Daniel Cormier are Top Earners from UFC 173

The salaries were released for UFC 173 with Robbie Lawler and Daniel Cormier taking home the most money. Both Lawler and Cormier won their fights rather easily with Lawler winning by third-round TKO and Cormier winning by third-round submission.

World Series of Fighting Extend Partnership with NBC Sports Group

The World Series of Fighting promotion has reached an agreement on a multi-year extension through 2017 with NBC Sports Group. NBC Sports Group will televise 14, live WSOF events this year, including NBC’s first-ever broadcast of MMA action when WSOF 11 takes place on July 5.

Rob Font Signs with UFC, Debuts at UFC 175

Rob Font has signed a deal with the UFC and will make his Octagon debut at UFC 175. He’ll reportedly be facing Douglas Silva de Andrade. Font is the current CES featherweight champ but will be dropping down to 135 pounds for the first time in his career. He fights out of the famed Team Sityodtong team and coached by Mark Dellagrotte.

UFC 175 is scheduled for July 5 and is set to feature two title fights. Chris Weidman will defend his middleweight title against former UFC light heavyweight champ Lyoto Machida in the main event while Ronda Rousey defends her UFC women’s bantamweight title against rising star Alexis Davis.
