The UFC’s Fourth of July-weekend pay-per-view has taken a hit, but hasn’t lost any star power.

Former Pride FC champion Wanderlei Silva has suffered an injury and is out of his UFC 175 clash with fellow TUF: Brazil 3 coach Chael Sonnen and will be replaced by former UFC champion and fellow Brazilian Vitor Belfort.

Belfort has been a lightning rod of controversy since it was revealed he was undergoing testosterone-replacement therapy (TRT). He was originally slated to square off against current middleweight champion Chris Weidman at UFC 173, but was replaced by yet another Brazilian, Lyoto Machida, and the bout was moved to later in the summer. Belfort tested positive for steroid use in 2006 and was subsequently fined and suspended by the NSAC. He has not competed in the US, nor Nevada, since 2011. However, the 36-year-old recently stopped the treatment after it was banned in both Nevada and his native Brazil. Belfort currently rides a three-fight winning streak that includes three straight knockouts. The Brazilian has suffered just two losses since 2006, against Anderson Silva and Jon Jones.

Sonnen, meanwhile, is no stranger to TRT. The 37-year-old was one of the first fighters to bring the topic into the limelight after his UFC 117 loss to the aforementioned Anderson Silva. The Oregon fighter is just 1-3 over his last four appearances inside the Octagon, but like his new opponent, two of those losses have come against Silva and Jones. Sonnen had built a rivalry with Wanderlei Silva during the pair’s stint as coaches in Brazil. Now, with Silva’s injury, that will have to be put on hold.

UFC 175 takes place from the Mandalay Bay Events Center on Saturday, July 5. It will be headlined by a middleweight title fight between champion Chris Weidman and former light heavyweight kingpin Lyoto Machida. The night’s co-main event features a women’s bantamweight title fight between Ronda Rousey and Alexis Davis. The Sonnen-Belfort match-up will take place on the pay-per-view main card.
