On Thursday, June 5, EFC Africa hosted its 30th event from the GrandWest Grand Arena in Cape Town, South Africa.

In the night’s main event, Don “Magic Man” Madge took on Boyd Allen in a lightweight affair. At just 22 years of age, Madge is well known in the striking world for his success in both Muay Thai and kickboxing. With just five MMA fights under his belt, he had compiled a record of 3-2, including a win over Costa Ioannou that earned him the 155-pound title. Allen, meanwhile, carried a record of 10-2 and was riding a lengthy, eight-fight unbeaten streak that dated back to 2011.

Also on the card, Evolve MMA bantamweight Irshaad Sayed looked to put himself in the 135-pound title mix as he took on South African fighter Charlie Weyer. The 25-year-old Sayed is a former RUFF champion and made a successful debut in the EFC cage in March, submitting Leo Gloss in the first round. Meyer has spent his entire four-fight career under the EFC banner. The 31-year-old fell short in quest for the title in his last outing and looked to get back into contention against Sayed.

EFC Africa 30 aired live via online pay-per-view on the promotion’s website starting at 16:15 CAT.
