Resurrection Fighting Alliance has revealed the plans for its 16th event on July 25.

The promotion will return to the 1stBank Center in Broomfield, Colo., and host a battle of unbeaten heavyweights as Colorado’s own Josh Copeland squares off with Utah’s Jan Jorgensen. The pair will be fighting for the promotion’s vacant heavyweight title in the night’s main event.

Copeland fights out of Grudge Training Center and has started his career a perfect 8-0. Six of his eight victories have come inside the first round. “Cuddly Bear” is the Sparta Combat League heavyweight champion and has defended that title on two occasions.

Jorgensen, meanwhile, also carries an unblemished record. The Utah fighter was a defensive end for Brigham Young University and has picked up seven wins since transitioning to MMA.  “The Janimal” has stopped six of his seven wins, with four coming by way of strikes.

In the night’s co-main event, former Northwestern wrestler Jarred Mercado will face off with jiu-jitsu ace Joe Murphy in a bantamweight No. 1 contender’s bout. Mercado has compiled an 11-1 record while largely competing in Colorado, while California’s Murphy carries a 7-1 record into the contest with five wins via submission.

Also on the main card, welterweights Josh Cavan and Chris Heatherly lock horns, bantamweight Zac Chavez meets Boston Salmon, Maureen Riordon tangles with Marion Reneau in a women’s bantamweight bout, and Sid Bice takes on Carlos Huerta in a flyweight bout. Additional bouts for the event are expected to be revealed in the coming weeks.

The RFA 16 main card will air live on AXS TV on Friday, July 25 beginning at 10 p.m. ET.
