UFC Signs Highly Touted Mexican Prospect Salvador Augusto Montaño

The UFC has reached an agreement with Salvador Augusto Montaño, also known as “Dodger.” He brings  a 14-1 professional record with 12 wins coming in the first round. He joins what is expected to be a wave of Latin influence into the Octagon following the first season of The Ultimate Fighter: Latin America.

World Series of Fighting 10 Medical Suspensions Released

Six fighters were given medical suspensions following the World Series of Fighting 10 event. Included in those was the former WSOF featherweight champ Georgi Karakhanyan. It was expected after Karakhanyan suffered a rib injury and couldn’t answer the bell for the third round.

The full list of suspensions is as follows:

•Georgi Karakhanyan: Must have right rib injury cleared by doctor or no contest for 90 days.
•Dave Huckaba: Suspended for 45 days with no contact for 30 days.
•Adam Acquaviva: Suspended for 45 days with no contact for 30 days.
•Jimmy Spicuzza: Must have right eye laceration clear by doctor or no contest for 60 days.
•Justin Jaynes: Suspended for 30 days with no contact for 21 days due to right eyelid lacerations.
•Tanner Cowan: Must have right cheek laceration cleared or no contest for 60 days.

World Series of Fighting 10 Salaries Released

WSOF Champions David Branch and Jessica Aguilar were the top earners from the WSOF 10 event. Branch defeated Jesse Taylor to win the WSOF middleweight gold while Aguilar defeated Emi Fujino to retain her WSOF women’s strawweight championship title.
