Resurrection Fighting Alliance’s 16th event on July 25 and been hit with an injury.

Bantamweight Lauren Barefoot has suffered a neck injury during training and is out of her planned match-up with Maureen Riordon. Stepping in for Barefoot will be Tachi Palace veteran Marion Reneau.

Reneau took her record to 3-1 in November with a TKO win over Leslie Rodriguez. All three of her wins have come via strikes. She trains under the tutelage of Doug “Rhino” Marshall.

RFA 16 takes place from the 1stBank Center in Broomfield, Colo. It will be headlined by a battle of unbeaten heavyweights as Colorado’s own Josh Copeland squares off with Utah’s Jan Jorgensen. The pair will be fighting for the promotion’s vacant heavyweight title.

In the night’s co-main event, former Northwestern wrestler Jarred Mercado will face off with jiu-jitsu ace Joe Murphy in a bantamweight No. 1 contender’s bout. Mercado has compiled an 11-1 record while largely competing in Colorado, while California’s Murphy carries a 7-1 record into the contest with five wins via submission.

Also on the main card, welterweights Josh Cavan and Chris Heatherly lock horns, bantamweight Zac Chavez meets Boston Salmon, and Sid Bice takes on Carlos Huerta in a flyweight bout. Additional bouts for the event are expected to be revealed in the coming weeks.

The RFA 16 main card will air live on AXS TV on Friday, July 25 beginning at 10 p.m. ET.
