Hobar-Phillips lined up for UFC Fight Night 49

Matt Hobar and Aaron Phillips will get the chance to secure their first UFC win when the two collide at UFC Fight Night 49 in Tulsa. Hobar suffered a TKO loss in his UFC debut against Pedro Munhoz this past May. Phillips came into the UFC with a 5-0 run, but suffered a loss to Sam Sicilia in his UFC debut.

White replaces Alers, debuts against “Mineiro” at UFC Fight Night 45 in Atlantic City

Jim Alers has been forced from a bout with Lucas Martins, which was planned for UFC Fight Night 45 in Atlantic City in a few weeks. In his place steps Alex White, who scored a stunning first-round KO in his UFC debut against Estevan Payan. Martins, meanwhile, fights for the first time this year after back-to-back wins in 2013.

ONE FC 18 fight card complete with Ngalani-Parry rematch

Next week’s ONE FC 18 card has been completed, and the lineup has been confirmed for the event, which marks ONE FC’s debut in Taipei. Headlined by featherweights Rob Lisita and Eric Kelly the card now plans to feature a rematch of heavyweights in Alain Ngalani and Chi Lewis Parry. Both Ngalani and Parry competed against each other at ONE FC 16, though it ended in a no-contest due to an accidental shot to Ngalani’s groin.

If plans work out, “The Dominican Nightmare” Alex Garcia may return to the Octagon when the UFC comes to the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Aug. 2., the date of UFC 176. Garcia, who comes off of an enthralling win over Sean Spencer at UFC 171, will look forward to facing Matt Dwyer, who comes in with a 7-1 record. Of those seven wins, Dwyer scored five of them in successions via knockout as part of the Battlefield Fight League.

UFC 181 now targeted for Las Vegas

After a switch-up in the UFC’s plans to come to Montreal, it appears that UFC 181 will most likely come to Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas on Dec. 6. If this proves to be the case, the timing could play host to the finale of The Ultimate Fighter 20, in which the winner will become the inaugural UFC women’s strawweight champion. Currently, however, this remains as mere speculation, though the promotion does plan to announce something sooner than later.

Legacy FC signs Brazilian standout Leite, targets fall debut

Legacy FC has added on to their light-heavyweight roster by signing Leonardo Leite. The judoka, best known for his BJJ, has accumulated a perfect 4-0 record as a professional, including two submission wins. All signs point to a debut at Legacy FC 35 in Tulsa this year, which may come against Legacy light heavyweight champion Myron Dennis, but at this time,  the venue for the bout currently has not been announced.
