ONE FC is headed to the Middle East.

The Singapore-based promotion has announced that ONE FC 19 will take place on Friday, Aug. 29 at the World Trade Centre in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Headlining the event will be a pair of title fights.

In the night’s top-billing, lightweight champion Shinya Aoki will square off with WEC and UFC veteran Kamal Shalorus. The Japanese submission ace Aoki has won 15 of his last 17 fights dating back to 2009 with his lone losses coming against Bellator champion Eddie Alvarez and current UFC No.1 contender Gilbert Melendez. Shalorus, meanwhile, has picked up back-to-back wins inside the ONE FC cage following his release from the UFC.

The co-main event will see newly crowned welterweight champion Nobutatsu Suzuki defend his belt for the first time against former Bellator welterweight kingpin Ben Askren. Suzuki captured the belt in March with a dominant decision win over UFC veteran Brock Larson. The American Askren kept his perfect record intact in May with a first-round submission of Bakhtiyar Abbasov.

Also rumored for the card are two additional title tilts.

Featherweight title holder Koji Oishi is expected to face the winner of the ONE FC 18 contest between Rob Lisita and Eric Kelly. Oishi has scored back-to-back knockout wins over Honorio Banario, but has yet to see action in 2014.

The promotion is also expected to crown its inaugural middleweight champion at the card. Evolve MMA product Leandro Ataides is rumored for the title affair, but an opponent is not finalized at this time.

The event is slated to air via online pay-per-view. More fights, as well as Ataides’ opponent will be revealed in the coming weeks.
