The first match-up for the upcoming Nitro 12 card, which is slated for Oct. 11 in Brisbane, Australia, has been confirmed.

The MMA Corner has learned through sources close to the event that Gokhan Turkyilmaz is set to meet Isaac Tisdell for the promotion’s lightweight title.

The belt, last held by current UFC competitor and The Ultimate Fighter veteran Ben Wall, has been left vacant since Wall was signed to the UFC.

Turkyilmaz is fresh off a victory over Vaughn Donayre at Global Fighting Championships 3 and is currently riding a two-fight winning streak. The Phuket Top Team/Integrated MMA product earned his shot at 155-pound gold with an impressive TKO victory over top contender Alex MacDonald at Nitro 11. Turkyilmaz has more than three times as many fights as Tisdell.

Tisdell, who is undefeated under the Nitro banner, has won his last three bouts, including stoppages over Josh Smith and Harley Taylor in 2013. The Five Rings Dojo fighter has stopped four of his five career wins.

More bouts for the card are set to be announced in the coming weeks.
