On Saturday, September 6, Invicta FC will be holding their 8th event live from the Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City, MO. Headlining the event will be an atomweight title fight between Michelle “The Karate Hottie” Waterson and Yasuko Tamada. The co-main event will feature a 115lb championship bout between Katja Kankaanpaa vs. Stephanie Eggink.

Waterson (11-3) is currently riding a five-fight winning streak, with her most recent victory coming over Jessica Penne via armbar at Invicta 5. Yasuko Tamada (15-8-3) will be making her Invicta debut riding a three-fight winning streak. However, before that streak Tamada had lost four straight.

Katja Kankaanpaa (9-1-1) was last seen inside the Invicta cage last December at Invicta 7. That night, she was on the losing end of a decision against Joanne Calderwood. Her opponent, Setphanie Eggink (4-1) is riding a three-fight win streak and will be making her promotional debut.
