In this edition of UFC Flashback, we take a look back at Rich Franklin’s last fight inside the Octagon when he took on Cung Le at UFC on Fuel TV 6: Franklin vs. Le

Former UFC middleweight champion Rich Franklin started off his UFC career 7-0, defeating the likes of the late Evan Tanner, Nate Quarry, and an over-the-hill Ken Shamrock en route to capturing the UFC middleweight title. He lost the title to Anderson Silva when they faced each-other for the first time at UFC 64. Following that defeat, Franklin ended up going 7-5 inside the Octagon before taking a step away from fighting to take an administration roll with ONE FC.

Cung Le made his mixed martial arts debut at Strikeforce: Shamrock vs. Gracie in March, 2006. Le won his first six MMA fights before suffering a KO loss to Scott Smith at Strikeforce: Evolution in December, 2009. Le has gone 2-2 inside the UFC Octagon, racking up wins over Patrick Cote and Rich Franklin. We last saw Le in action at UFC Fight Night: Bisping vs Le, where Le suffered a fourth round TKO loss.
