Travis Browne makes that return as part of UFC 181 in December against Brendan Schaub. Fox Sports’ Damon Martin first reported the news. Browne (16-2) will be returning to the cage for the first time since his April loss to Fabricio Werdum. Browne was heavily favored going into that heavyweight title eliminator in Orlando, but Werdum just picked the Hawaiian apart from start to finish. Before that fight Browne was on a three fight win streak with three consecutive knockouts. Browne will now look to get back on the track towards a title shot. Schaub (10-4) is also coming off of a loss that ended one of the better streaks of his career. Schaub dropped a controversial split decision loss to Andrei Arlovski back at UFC 174. Before that Schaub was on a two fight winning streak with wins over Lavar Johnson and Matt Mitrione. Schaub’s name was thrown out there as a possible opponent for Alistair Overeem after his loss last weekend, but he will now get “Hapa” instead. UFC 181 will take place the first weekend of December in Las Vegas and the top of the card is already stacked. In the main event Chris Weidman will make his third title defense against Vitor Belfort. The co-main event will also feature a stellar title showdown. Anthony Pettis will finally make his first defense of his lightweight title against Gilbert Melendez. It isn’t confirmed where Browne and Schaub will fit in on the card, but one could assume the heavyweight showdown will be a blockbuster addition to the main card.
