The UFC heads to the Brazilian capital city of Brasilia on September 13, 2014 for UFC Fight Night 51. The event takes place at Ginasio Nilson Nelson in Brasilia and the entire card will air on the streaming service UFC Fight Pass.

Headlining the event is a heavyweight bout between heavy hitters Antonio Silva and Andrei Arlovski. Silva is looking to get back into the win column and Arlovski is trying to prove that he still is an elite competitor.

The event also features two solid lightweight bouts as Gleison Tibau takes on rising star Piotr Hallmann and TUF winners Leonardo Santos and Efrain Escudero square off.

Heading into every UFC event there is extra motivation on the line because the UFC offers four $50,000 bonus checks for fighters who really put on a show; there are two Performance of the Night awards and both fighters in the Fight of the Night receive awards.

Performance of the Night

Paulo Thiago – Thiago came into the UFC and made an instant splash when he knocked out Josh Koscheck in the first round. Since starting 3-1 in the UFC he is an abysmal 2-6 in his last eight bouts. His back is against the wall and he needs an impressive win here. Sean Spencer is a tough opponent but Thiago has all of the tools to put him away before this bout goes to the judges’ score cards.

Piotr Hallmann – Hallmann is a rising star in the UFC lightweight division and he will be getting put to the test against Gleison Tibau. Tibau is a test for anyone at lightweight and he is the gatekeeper standing in Hallmann’s way to bigger and better things. Hallmann is going to stamp his ticket to deep waters of the UFC lightweight division with an impressive win over Tibau.

Fight of the Night

Antonio Silva vs Andrei Arlovski – There are several reasons to believe that Silva and Arlovski will produce a “Fight of the Night”; both have KO power, both desperately need a win to be relevant in the division and both have somewhat questionable chins.

Arlovski and Silva throw big leather and they look to finish fights; someone will be going to sleep in this bout and it is going to be spectacular.
