From the looks of his mugshot, Nick Diaz doesn’t seem to displeased by his recent arrest.

According from news reports coming from many reputable web sites, Diaz was arrested on September 6 on suspicion of driving while under the influence, obstructing a police officer, driving with a suspended license, and destruction of evidence.

The report was confirmed by Lodi Police Department Sgt. Steve Maynard to MMAWeekly.com

The UFC has issued a statement regarding Diaz’s current situation:

We are aware of the (Nick Diaz) situation and are in the process of gathering the facts. We understand that there is a legal process that will now take place and that Nick Diaz will have the opportunity to address the situation in the near future.

Diaz was “actually cordial and polite” during the arrest Sgt. Maynard said. Apparently, the obstructing a police officer came about when Diaz attempted to make himself vomit in the bathroom, which could have changed the results from any test used to determine the amount of alcohol or other substances were in his system at the time of the arrest.

Diaz has been released and should be arraigned within 21 days of his arrest.

As of right now, the bout between Diaz and former middleweight champion Anderson Silva will still go down at UFC 183. That event is scheduled to take place on January 31. No other bouts have been announced for the remainder of the card.
