On Saturday, September 14 the UFC will hold UFC Fight Night 51: Arlovski vs. “Bigfoot” II from the Nilson Nelson Gymnasium in Brasilia, Brazil.

The night’s main event will feature a rematch from two of the sport’s most recognizable heavyweights. Andrei Arlovski will square off with Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva in a rematch of their 2010 fight at Strikeforce: Heavy Artillery in which Silva scored a unanimous decision victory. Arlovski will be looking for revenge and to continue climbing back up the UFC heavyweight rankings. In June Arlovski returned to the UFC after a six year hiatus from the promotion. Over the course of those six years Arlovski fought in nearly every notable MMA promotion across the world and had his ups and downs. Arlovski went on a four fight losing streak in Affliction and Strikeforce, but since that skid he has only lost once in his last nine fights and is currently on a three fight win streak.

Silva has not had quite that kind of success recently. This will be the first time we have seen “Bigfoot” in action since he and Mark Hunt engaged in one of the greatest battles in MMA history last December. That fight was ruled a draw, but was later turned into a no-contest when Silva was popped for a positive drug test. Silva now returns off of that suspension and will be looking to get the bad taste out of fans’ mouths that that drug test left. A big win for Silva combined with a win for Hunt next weekend could signal a rematch between the two sluggers.

In the night’s co-main event two lightweights will get the biggest showcase of their careers. Gleison Tibau will be fighting in his home country against Poland’s Piotr Hallmann. Both men will look to take a step forward in MMA’s most crowded division. Tibau has won three out of his last four bouts and looked surprisingly dominant in a unanimous decision over Pat Healy back in July. Hallmann was also victorious in a big way in his last time out when he submitted long time veteran Yves Edwards in the third round.

The rest of the main card is also chock-full of Brazilians. Leonardo Santos will face the returning Efrain Escudero, Wendell Oliveria faces Santiago Ponzinibbio, Iuri Alcantara will fight Russell Doane, and Jessica Andrade and Larissa Moreira Pacheco.

Those six fights will be preceded by five more and all eleven bouts air live on UFC Fight Pass. The preliminary action starts at 5:45 pm ET with the main card starting at 8 pm et.
