Wanderlei Silva has officially retired.

This report follows Silva’s release of a 13-minute video, highlighting his frustration with the UFC, while sending his final farewell to ‘War Wand’ fans across the globe. Click here to see the video in its entirety.

While UFC President, Dana White, has yet to respond, others took to Twitter in response to his retirement.

 

The first, and rather shocking, came from no other than, Chael Sonnen. Sonnen, who’s been anything but supportive of “The Axe Murderer“, showed his due respect to the 18-year veteran:

 

Silva isn’t the only one dismantled by the world’s top promotion and how they allegedly treat their employees. Cesar Gracie chimed in to back Silva:

 

The occasional serious, but never dull, @FrontRowBrian, Twitter personality, brought forth a newsworthy point. Chances are, the UFC shot down Silva’s request to be released from his promotional contract, explaining the veteran’s lash out:

And last, but certainly the least (Yes, you read that correctly), former UFC heavyweight champion, Tim Sylvia, cashed in his two cents. Sylvia, who has been on the outside looking in, undoubtedly can relate to Silva’s emotional bashing of the UFC:
