On October 4, the UFC heads to the Ericsson Globe Arena in Stockholm, Sweden, for UFC Fight Night 53; the first event in a Saturday doubleheader.

This card doesn’t necessarily have the name appeal to draw in new subscribers to UFC Fight Pass, but if you already have a subscription, this is an event you will want to watch, as there will be some elite young talent on display.

Charles Rosa

If you don’t know who Rosa is now, you will after his UFC debut against Dennis Siver. Rosa is an elite prospect as he is undefeated in his young MMA career. On top of that, Rosa has never been taken beyond the second round as all of his wins have come by way of stoppage. Facing a fighter like Siver on short notice is a tough task, but Rosa has the skills and technique to turn a lot of heads in his Octagon debut.

Max Holloway

Holloway will be stepping into the Octagon for the 10th time this Saturday at just 22 years young. Let that settle for a second. Holloway just keeps getting better with each outing. Since dropping a decision to Conor McGregor, Holloway has rattled off three straight victories via finish. While he is still a work in progress, Holloway is a fighter you have to watch as he has world champion potential.

Gunnar Nelson vs. Rick Story

The main event of the evening features a welterweight bout between hot prospect in Nelson, and a respected veteran in Story. Story has become a bit of an enigma in the UFC,as he flucuates from stellar to the weight classes’ gatekeeper; Story hasn’t won back-to-back fights since he rattled off six straight, including a win over current UFC welterweight champion, Johny Hendricks.

On the other side of the cage stands an undefeated grappling machine in Nelson. Nelson is going to have a tough time dealing with Story’s wrestling and top power, but he is crafty off of his back. Story has the grappling credentials to back that claim up. A win over Story would make Nelson one of the division’s elite as he continues his rise to the top.
