Despite what you may have heard through the grapevines, or even wish to be true, Conor McGregor isn’t fighting at UFC 179.

While the ever-growing Irishman won’t be entering the Octagon, he will be cage side to witness the awaited rematch between current UFC featherweight king, Jose Aldo, and his opponent, Chad Mendes.

Mendes will seek revenge after the two met at UFC 142, in what would become the most heroic win of Aldo’s career. UFC 179 will take place on October 24, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
