On Thursday, the UFC announced a featherweight matchup between Alex White and Clay Collard has officially been added to UFC 181 in December.

White (10-1) was last seen suffering his first professional defeat at the hands of Lucas Martins at UFC Fight Night 45 in July. Prior to this loss, ‘The Spartan’ walked away with a first round knockout victory in his UFC debut against Estevan Payan at UFC on FOX 11 in April 2014. Nine of his 10 of his professional victories have been stoppages.

Collard (13-5) last stepped into the cage on just a few days notice against Max Hollaway at UFC Fight Night 49 in August. While he ended up suffering a third-round TKO loss, the man known as ‘Cassius’ received praise for his performance as he and Hollaway put on a very exciting back-and-forth war for the first two rounds. Prior to this loss he was riding a five fight unbeaten streak, including a split decision over former UFC fighter Justin Buchholz. He will enter this bout 10 career stoppage victories, including eight by way of knockout.

UFC 181 is scheduled to take place at the Mandalay Bay Events Center on December 6. A welterweight title fight between champion Johny Hendricks and Robbie Lawler will serve as the night’s main event. A lightweight title fight between champion Anthony Pettis and former Strikeforce welterweight champion Gilbert Melendez will take place in the co-main event.
