Henry Cejudo (Robert Lopez/Sherdog)Henry Cejudo set to make UFC debut against Dustin Kimura at UFC on FOX 13 in December José Youngs October 20, 2014 News, Spotlight Stop me if you’ve heard this one before, but Henry Cejudo has a date set for his UFC debut. On Monday, according to a report on AZCentral, the former Olympic wrestler will make his promotional debut at UFC on FOX 13 in his hometown of Phoenix, AZ against fellow bantamweight Dustin Kimura. A 2008 U.S. Olympic gold medalist, Cejudo (6-0), at just 21, became the youngest wrestler in U.S. history to come out on top of the Olympic games when he defeated Japan’s Tomohiro Matsunaga in Beijing. Since retiring from amateur wrestling in 2012, the Phoenix based fighter emerged as one of the most promising prospects in all of mixed martial arts. Despite starting off his career with victories in his first six bouts, Cejudo has repeatedly struggled to make the flyweight limit of 125-pounds. He famously pulled out his scheduled UFC debut against Scott Jorgenson at UFC 177 just hours before the weigh-ins due to his struggle with the weight cut. UFC President Dana White would later reveal if the talented Cejudo wanted to remain a UFC fighter he would have to move up to bantamweight and compete at 135-pounds. Kimura (11-2) was last seen suffering a decision victory to George Roop at The Ultimate Fighter: Nations Finale in April. Prior to this win, ‘The Diamond’ walked away with a first round submission victory over Jon Delos Reyes at UFC Fight Night 34. He will enter this bout with eight career submission victories and a UFC record of 2-2. UFC on FOX 13 is scheduled to take place on Dec. 13 at the U.S. Airway Center in downtown Phoenix.
