On Saturday, Invicta Fighting Championships announced their reigning featherweight champion Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino has been forced to withdraw from her scheduled bantamweight debut in the main event of Invicta FC 10 on Dec. 5 due to a full thickness rupture of the anterior talofibular ligament in her left ankle

Cyborg (12-0), the former Strikeforce women’s featherweight champ, has not competed in mixed martial arts since winning the inaugural Invicta FC Featherweight Championship with a fourth round TKO victory over Marloes Coenen at Invicta FC 10 in July 2013.

An Invicta FC atomweight title bout between reigning champion Michelle Waterson and  Brazilian challenger Herica Tiburcio will now serve as the main event.

Waterson (12-3) is coming off the first defense of her title, a TKO victory over Yasuko Tamada (15-9) in at Invicta FC 9 September. The win not only marked the “The Karate Hottie’s” 10th finish in 12 career victories, including seven by way of submission, but pushed her win streak to six.

Tiburcio (8-2), will enter this bout  riding a three-fight winning streak. She was originally scheduled to make her promotional debut at Invicta FC 9, but visa issues forced her off the card. She will enter this bout with six career submission victories

Invicta FC 10 is currently scheduled to take place at the Arena Theatre in Hoston, Texas on December 5. The entire fight card will stream on UFC Fight Pass.

Here is how rest of the card is shaping up:

  • Invicta FC atomweight champ Michelle Waterson (12-3) vs. Herica Tiburcio (8-2)
  • Cindy Dandois (5-1) vs. Tonya Evinger (14-5)
  • Roxanne Modafferi (16-11) vs. Vanessa Porto (17-6)
