It should be noted this event will be going head-to-head with UFC 180 and Bellator 131, which are both set to air on the same day as WSOF 15. “With the addition of this fourth televised bout between Macaco Patino and Eric Reynolds, I think it is safe to say that World Series of Fighting has put together, hands down, not only the most relevant, but also the most entertaining fight card on paper, from top to bottom, on Nov. 15,” stated World Series of Fighting President Ray Sefo in a press release. Patino (35-15-2), a former Legacy FC lightweight champion and UFC welterweight title contender, kicked off his career with 16 straight first round stoppage victories, including 11 by submission. “Macaco” also boasts a first round knockout win over current UFC middleweight title contender Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza, earned back in main event of Jungle Fight 1 2003. However, in his last outing, fans saw him on the receiving end of a second round knockout in his WSOF debut against Luis Palomino at WSOF 8 in January. Reynolds (18-8), who will be making his WSOF debut, has competed with some of the toughest competitors in the 155 pound division, including current UFC lightweights Eddie Alvarez and Jorge Masvidal, during his seven-year professional career. He will enter this bout with 16 career stoppage victories, with 14 coming within the first round. WSOF 15 is currently scheduled to take place on November 1 at the USF Dome in Tampa, FL. A middleweight title fight between champion Dave Branch and fellow UFC veteran turned WSOF fighter Yushin Okami will serve as the main event. A lightweight matchup between champion Justin Gaethje and UFC veteran Melvin Guillard as well as a women’s strawweight title fight between champion Jessica Aguilar and Kalindra Faria will also appear on the main card.
