UFC Fight Night 55 is heading Down Under to bring fight fans everywhere UFC Fight Night 55, live from the Allphones Arena in Sydney on Nov. 8. A middleweight grudge between heated rivals Michael Bisping and Luke Rockhold will serve as the main event.

Rockhold (12-2), the former Strikeforce middleweight champion, will be looking to push his win streak to three straight. In his two most recent performances, the American Kickboxing Academy product walked away with back-to-back first-round finishes over Costas Philippou and Tim Boetsch.

Manchester, England’s Bisping (25-6) has been a mainstay in the upper echelon of the 185-pound division ever since winning the third season of The Ultimate Fighter. In his last outing, ‘The Count’ got back in the win column with an impressive fourth-round TKO of Cung Le at UFC Fight Night 48 in August. Prior to this win, he suffered a decision loss to Tim Kennedy in the main event of TUF: Nations Finale in April.

Fight fans will remember Bisping for his comments during an appearance on SPIKE’s MMA Uncensored Live, where he dismissed Rockhold and his fellow Strikeforce fighters as viable contenders. He would later declare himself the “unofficial Strikeforce champion” after he revealed he had his way with Rockhold during a past sparring session.

Rockhold would take the exception to this statement and vowed to “treat Bisping like he needs to be treated.”

A lightweight fight between a pair of TUF veterans in Ross Pearson and Al Iaquinta will serve as the co-main event.

Pearson (16-7) is fresh off an impressive second-round TKO victory over Gray Maynard at UFC Fight Night 47 in August. The TUF 9 winner will enter this bout having gone unbeaten in four of his last five bouts, which includes violent TKO victories over George Sotiropoulos and Ryan Couture.

Iaquinta (9-3-1), the TUF 15 runner-up, will enter this bout having picked up wins in four of his last five UFC bouts. In his most recent performance, the Serra-Longo product walked away with his fourth career knockout victory after turning off Rodrigo Damm’s lights in the third round of their UFC Fight Night 50 matchup.
