On Saturday, November 8th the UFC will hold UFC Fight Night 56: Shogun vs. Saint Preux from Ginasio Municipal Tancredo Neves in Uberlandia, Brazil.

In the night’s main event light heavyweights Mauricio “Shogun” Rua and Ovince Saint Preux will look to get back on the right track. Most believed Shogun was in the twilight of his career until his brutal knockout of James Te Huna last December. In his bout following that, the Brazilian was dominating Dan Henderson before he was knocked out by one of Henderson’s signature “H-Bombs” in the third round. Shogun was originally slated to face Jimi Manuwa in this bout, but Saint Preux now steps in due to an injury to Manuwa. Saint Preux’s original opponent, Rafael Cavalcante also was forced to withdraw from this card leaving the two fighters without an opponent an easy choice for the new main event. This will be Saint Preux’s second taste of the main event spotlight. His last fight was a main event bout against Ryan Bader. Saint Preux fell via decision in a bout that ended a stellar five-fight win streak.

In the night’s co-main event, we will see a new flyweight number one contender crowned when John Lineker faces off with Ian McCall. Lineker once again finds himself on the verge of a title shot. Many have pegged the Brazilian as the flyweight most likely to dethrone Demetrious Johnson, but due to weight cutting issues and untimely losses he just hasn’t reached that shot yet. Lineker is definitely the most powerful puncher at flyweight with four knockout or TKO victories inside the octagon. Ian McCall will certainly be the biggest test of Lineker’s career. “Uncle Creepy” certainly didn’t have the best of starts to his UFC career against the likes of Johnson and Joseph Benavidez. Since those three bouts, McCall has proved to be one of the world’s best at 125 pounds with back to back decision victories. A win in this bout would also likely score McCall a title shot considering he has been the closest to beating Johnson at flyweight.

The UFC will again feature a plethora of Brazilian up and comers on the eleven fight card. The action kicks off with one preliminary fight on UFC Fight Pass at 7:30 p.m. ET followed by five prelims on Fox Sports 2 at 8 p.m. ET. All of that precedes the main card at 10:30 p.m. ET on Fox Sports 1.
