(Huffington Post)WSOF 15: Aguilar vs. Faria Fight Breakdown Michael Davis November 13, 2014 Events, News, Spotlight Jessica Aguilar has been toted as the No. 1 straw weight in the world, by the World Series of Fighting. It’s no suprise that they have included her on the stacked WSOF 15 main card which will be competing with Bellator and the UFC who have events the same night. Aguilar will once again be defending her title when she steps into the cage with her opponent, Kalindra Faria. The argument for Aguilar being the top dog of her division isn’t just promotional propaganda. It’s founded in facts that put together a great case for the statement. She has put together a total professional record of eighteen wins and four losses and also currently rides a nine fight winning streak. The accomplishment getting to were she is today is remarkable when you consider the level of competition that she has faced. Within a one year time frame, she defeated Megumi Fuji, a legend of Women’s MMA, twice. Another fighter that she has dispatched is UFC Straw Weight and former InvictaFC champ Carla Esparza. She has found her way to victory in every way possible and poses a threat no matter where the fight goes. The challenger, Kalindra Faria, looks to have the ability to create a competitive fight and possibly find her way to victory on Saturday night. With a total record that is comparable to Aguilar’s at fifteen victories and three losses, it would be a mistake for the “Jag” to overlook or underestimate Faria. Faria isn’t well known because she hasn’t fought in the major organizations. The fighter’s she has faced aren’t on the same level as what Aguilar has had to deal with over the years and this is a major step up for Faria. As if making her debut in WSOF isn’t a big enough task, she his faced with a five round title match against one of the most dangerous women in the world. If she can pull of the victory her life will change over night and that is the type of thing that can make someone elevate there game. With so many great events this weekend, it will be difficult for fans to stay on top of all the results. Be sure to stay connected with us here at The MMA Corner for all fight results and analysis.
