A lightweight matchup between a pair veterans from the Ultimate Fighter series in Joe Lauzon and Al Iaquinta has officially been added to UFC 183 in January. Newsday was the first to report the announcement.

Lauzon (24-9) was scheduled to face Diego Sanchez at UFC 180 in November before an injury forced him off the card entirely. Prior to this setback, the TUF 5 veteran scored a second round TKO victory over TUF 15 winner Michael Chiesa at UFC Fight Night 50 in September. He was awarded yet another Fight of the Night for his performance, giving him a UFC record 13 post-fight bonuses. Prior to this win, the Massachusetts native earned a unanimous decision victory over TUF 6 winner Mac Danzig at UFC on FOX 9 last December.

Iaquinta (10-3-1), runner-up on TUF 15, was last seen walking away with a violent second round knockout over TUF 9 winner Ross Pearson in the co-main event of UFC Fight Night 55 earlier this month. This victory not only have the Serra-Longo product back-to-back TKO wins but also marked his fifth win in his last six UFC appearances.

UFC 183 is currently scheduled to take place on January 31 in Las Vegas. A middleweight superfight between former champion Anderson Silva and fan favorite Nick Diaz will serve as the night’s main event.

Here is how the rest of the card is shaping up:
