On Monday, Bellator MMA announced a featherweight matchup between the highly touted Bubba Jenkins and World Series of Fighting import Georgi Karakhanyan has officially been book for Bellator 132 in January

Jenkins (8-1), the 2011 NCAA National Wrestling Champion out of Arizona State University, will be looking to extend his already impressive win streak to five straight. In his most recent performance, fans witness “The Highlight Kid” earn just his second career decision win when he outpointed Thiago Meller at Bellator 126 in September. This victory also marked his second straight win at 145-pounds since making the drop down in weight earlier this year. He will enter this bout with six career stoppage victories and a Bellator MMA record of 5-1.

Karakhanyan (23-4-1), a former WSOF and Taichi Palace Fight featherweight champion, will be competing under the Bellator banner for the first time since suffering a third round TKO loss to reigning Bellator champion Patricio ‘Pitbull’ at Bellator 37 in March 2011. Since then, the man known as ‘Insane’ has put together record of 9-1 under various other promotions. In his most recent performance fans saw Karakhanyan drop WSOF belt to current to champion Rick Glenn in the form of a second round TKO at WSOF 10 in June. He will enter this bout with 17 career stoppage victories, including 13 by way of submission.

Bellator 132 is currently scheduled to take place on January 16 at the Pechanga Resort and Casino in Southern California. A featherweight title fight between Patricio Pitbull and former champion Daniel Straus will serve as the main event.
