The Arena Theatre in Houston, Texas will be packed with women’s MMA fans this Friday for Invicta FC 10: Waterson vs. Tiburicio.

While there may not be a lot of big names, besides “The Karate Hottie” Michelle Waterson, this card is guaranteed to entertain.

Atomweight Title Fight: Michelle Waterson (12-3) vs. Herica Tiburcio (8-2)

Breakdown: Challenger Herica Tiburcio, who is making her Invicta debut this Friday, will certainly have her hands full. Michelle Waterson comes from a background in karate, and is fast and dangerous on her feet. Tiburcio’s success will likely depend on her ability to score the takedown, and if she succeeds, then whether or not she is able to out-grapple the champ.

Prediction: Waterson via submission, second round

Bantamweight: Tonya Evinger (14-5) vs. Cindy Dandois (5-1)

Breakdown: Both women are vicious strikers and boast victories over some of the top talent in women’s MMA. That being said, Evinger is the more well-rounded fighter. Even if the fight stays standing up Tonya’s versatility and confidence will win her the fight.

Prediction: Evinger via KO/TKO, third round

Flyweight: Andrea Lee (2-0) vs. Roxanne Modafferi (16-11)

Breakdown: While 1-6 in her last seven fights might not seem like the greatest track record, Roxanne Modafferi is one of the pioneers of women’s mixed martial arts. She comes from a background in both modern and traditional martial arts, and fights with an unexpectedly aggressive and unorthodox style. Andrea Lee, on the other hand, despite her extensive amateur record is still green on the professional stage.

Prediction: Modafferi via TKO, first round

Flyweight: Jennifer Maia (9-3-1) vs. DeAnna Bennett (5-0)

Breakdown: Bennett comes into this fight undefeated, but is taking on a tough opponent in Jennifer Maia. Maia is more experienced and has defeated several division standouts, including Zoila Frosta Gurgel.

Prediction: Maia via submission, first round

Featherweight: Peggy Morgan (2-2) vs. Andria Wawro (3-1)

Breakdown: Peggy Morgan is fighting a precarious battle against a losing record, while Wawro is coming off a hot 19 second victory over Jessy Miele. Standing at 6’1 and 5’8 respectively, Morgan vs Wawro is a battle of lank vs. strength. Andria has the power to take out Peggy Morgan, but only if she’s able to get inside.

Prediction: Wawro via decision

Strawweight: Alexa Grasso (5-0) vs. Alida Gray (4-1)

Breakdown: Alida Gray impressed the world last October with her five second, one-punch knockout victory over Soannia Tiem. Grasso is also undefeated and has finished three fights by KO/TKO in the first 36 seconds. The determining factor in this fight will be the amount of damage each fighter is able to take.

Prediction: Gray via KO, second round

Atomweight: Jinh Yu Frey (2-1) vs. Cassie Robb (0-2)

Breakdown: Jinh Yu Frey is an atomweight with knockout power, a true rarity in this sport. (One of her KO victories made our Top Ten last week) Her opponent Cassie Robb has a losing record and is much better on the ground than she is standing up.

Prediction: Frey via KO/TKO, first round
