Professional wrestling fans rejoice. CM Punk is officially back in the spotlight. Well maybe not in the way you’re hoping.

During the UFC 181 broadcast, the former WWE champion, whose real name is Phil Brooks, joined UFC commentator Joe Rogan to reveal he had officially inked a multi-fight deal with the UFC.

“This is my new career, 100%,” revealed Brooks. “I’m going to go full steam ahead, all systems go after today, and it’s going to be fun. I have nothing but respect for everybody here at the UFC, everybody who steps in the Octagon to fight. And when it’s all said and done, when I’m finished, everybody’s going to have to respect me because I have come here to fight.”

As student of Gracie jiu-jitsu, Brooks has repeatedly made it known he would relish an opportunity to step into the Octagon. While he did not announce which weight class or which fight camp he would be training out of, he did reveal he was hoping to debut some time in 2015.
