Unlike other professional sports, there is no offseason in MMA. Week in and week out fight cards all over the world are taking place. Some weeks there will be major fight cards filled with big name fighters others not so much, but there are fights taking place every week.

Regardless of whether the fighters are household names or not, The MMA Corner will preview the best fight taking place during the week.

This week’s Fight of the Week is Martin Zawada vs. Maciej Browarski.

On Saturday, December 27, 2014 at PLMMA 46 – Wielki Final, Zawada puts his PLMMA light heavyweight title on the line against Browarski in Czestochowa, Poland.

Hailing from Dusseldorf, Germany,  Zawada holds a record of 26-13 with 16 wins by knockout. While the tough German fighter is the reigning PLMMA champion he is looking to win back to back fights for the first time since 2010.

Standing across from Zawada will be Poland’s own Browarski. Browarski is currently 0-2 inside the PLMMA cage, but he has earned this title shot by winning three straight including a first round TKO victory over UFC veteran Alessio Sakara in his last outing.

Neither Zawada nor Browarski are household names, but that shouldn’t stop this bout from being an entertaining slugfest between to grizzled European MMA veterans. Considering Browarski will be fighting for the title in front of a home crowd, expect him to come in with some extra motivation. Closing out the year with a 4-0 record and a light heavyweight title would be great way to celebrate the holidays for Browarski.
