In less than a week, pound-for-pound kingpin and UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones puts his title on the line against two-time Olympian Daniel Cormier at UFC 182 in one of the most highly anticipated bouts in UFC history.

Since beating MMA legend Shogun Rua for the UFC title at UFC 128 in March of 2011, Jones has dominated the division; defending his title a light heavyweight record seven consecutive times. But as dominant as Jones has been, no one is unbeatable in the octagon.

On Saturday, January 3rd, Jones will face the toughest test of his MMA career against Cormier. Cormier is undefeated in his MMA career and he is coming off of the most impressive victory of his young career. At UFC 173 this past May Cormier handed former two-time Olympian and two division Pride champion Dan Henderson the most one-sided beating of his illustrious career.

Cormier didn’t just beat Henderson, he brutalized him and controlled him every step up the way before choking him unconscious at the end of the third round. Granted Henderson is on the down slope of his career, but no one had ever controlled Henderson the way Cormier did in the grappling department.

Jones has taken the best from some of the best in the world and none of them have been able to dethrone him. But something is different about Cormier; his ability to completely control his opponents with his dominant wrestling makes him a dangerous matchup for anyone.

Can Jones continue his dominant run? Will Cormier dethrone the pound for pound king? We will find out this Saturday at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, NV.

Until then, enjoy the video.
