On Monday night, UFC officials announced Al Iaquinta has agreed to step again against fellow lightweight Jorge Masvidal at UFC Fight Night 63 in Fairfax, VA.

For Masvidal (28-8) this will be the third opponent he has been scheduled to face on the April card. His original opponent, Bobby Green, was forced out with a hamstring injury. In his place stepped in former UFC lightweight champion Benson Henderson. However Henderson who would eventually pull out in order to face Brandon Thatch in the main event of UFC Fight Night 60 in February. The ‘Gamebred’ will enter this bout with victories in six of his last seven bouts, including three straight under the UFC banner. He most recently earned a decision over James Krause at UFC 178 in September.

Iaquinta (11-3-1) is coming off the most impressive win of his career in the form of a second round TKO over longtime MMA veteran and fan favorite Joe Lauzon at UFC 183 this past Saturday. This victory not only extended his win streak to three straight, all of which have ended by way of knockout, by gave him wins in six of his last seven bouts.

UFC Fight Night 63 is currently set to take place on April 4 at the Patriot Center in Fairfax, VA. A featherweight matchup between a pair of former title contenders in Chad Mendes and Ricardo Lamas will serve s the main event.
