According the UFC, a heavyweight contest between Hunt and Stipe Miocic has officially been named the headlining act of UFC Fight Night 65 in Australia. Hunt (10-9-1), the 2001 K-1 World Grand Prix Champion, is coming off a disapointing second round knockout loss to current UFC interim heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum at UFC 180 in November. Prior to this set back, ‘The Super Samoan’ scored an impressive second round knockout victory over Roy Nelson in the main event of UFC Fight Night 52 just a month before facing Werdum. This contest will also mark Hunt’s first fight in his native Australia since he fought to a draw in what has been labeled one of the great heavyweight fights in UFC history against Antonio ‘Bigfoot’ Silva at UFC Fight Night 33 in December 2013. He will enter this bout with seven career knockout victories and a UFC record of 5-3-1. Miocic (12-2) is coming off a heartbreaking decision loss to former UFC champion Junior dos Santos in the main event of UFC on FOX 13 in December.
