If you are a fan of high level women’s MMA, then Invicta FC is where it’s at. Invicta FC is the world’s premier promotion for women’s MMA and their divisions are loaded with elite talent.

On Friday, Feb. 27, 2015 Invicta FC heads to the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, for Invicta FC 11: Cyborg vs. Tweet. After toying with the possibility of dropping down to bantamweight, Invicta FC featherweight champion Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino is resuming her career at 145 and now she is set to defend her title against Canada’s Charmaine Tweet.

Tweet is a talented grappler who is coming off of back-to-back first round stoppage wins, but she is going to have her hands full with Justino. As one of the most dominant fighters in the history of women’s MMA, Justino has not lost an MMA bout since her pro debut in May of 2005 and she has not gone the distance since October of 2008.

Striking

There is no question whatsoever that on the feet Justino holds a major advantage. With vicious power and ferocious Muay Thai, Justino is the most feared striker in all of women’s MMA. Although Tweet hasn’t been stopped due to strikes since October of 2011, she has never faced a striker like Justino.

Advantage: Justino

Grappling

If you just look at their records you would assume that Tweet has the advantage in the grappling department but you would be wrong. Justino is a big, powerful featherweight and she has two gold medals from the World Jiu-Jitsu Championships and a bronze medal for the ADCC Submission Wrestling World Championships. Justino knows what to do and the ground but more importantly she knows how to keep a fight standing.

Advantage: Justino

Submissions

This is where Tweet might have a slight edge. Even though Justino has done well in pure grappling competition, she has never shown superior finishing ability on the ground with submissions. Tweet may not have her grappling credentials, but she does know how to sink in a choke and finish a fight.

Advantage: Tweet

X-Factors

Tweet: Heading into this fight, the biggest thing Tweet has going for her is her lack of pressure. Everyone expects Justino to destroy Tweet and with all of the constant talk about a potential superfight between UFC champion Ronda Rousey and Justino maybe, just maybe Justino is overlooking Tweet. Fighters with nothing to lose are extremely dangerous because they will take risks and chances other fighters wouldn’t and that unpredictability can change the course of a fight.

Justino: Simply put, physicality is Justino’s X-Factor heading into Friday night. Her raw physical strength separates her from every other female fighter in MMA today and she knows how to use it to impose her will.

Prediction: Justino via second round TKO
