It’s a jam-packed weekend of MMA. One event that is flying under the radar is Legacy FC 39. The co-main event is a fight between UFC veteran Daniel Pineda and up and comer Thomas Webb.

For Daniel Pineda, this will be his second fight under the Legacy promotion since receiving his pink slip from the UFC. As a young fighter, Pineda developed his skills within the Texas-based Legacy promotion. When he returned he was received well, as though he had come home. In his first post- UFC fight, he defeated Leonard Garcia, and now he has to beat Thomas Webb if he plans on getting back to the Legacy feather weight belt which was once his. On paper, it seems like the fight is Pineda’s to lose, but you can never underestimate a fighter that has nothing to lose.

Thomas Webb only has ten professional fights under his belt, and he has won all but two of them. Webb is older than Pineda, but not in terms of his fight career. Webb doesn’t have many fights, and he has mostly fought in promotions you have never heard of, against fighters that are just as unknown. The phrase fighting up or fighting down exists, because sometimes fighters will rise and fall based upon the talent level of their opposition. Pineda is without a doubt, the biggest name he has ever fought and Webb will most certainly be doing what ever it takes to defeat him.

Legacy FC 39 takes place at the Houston Arena Theater, in Houston, Texas on Friday, February 27, 2015. The main card kicks off at 9pm EST and will be aired live on AXS TV.
