Legacy Fighting Championship heads back to Texas on Friday night for a card featuring the promotions middleweight title on the line as Leonardo Leite (5-0) takes on Larry Crowe (9-3) in the nights main event. The co-main event is a 150-lbs catchweight bout pitting UFC veteran Daniel Pineda (19-11) against unheralded Thomas WEbb (8-2).

Also in the card is a women’s bantamweight bout as the up and coming Valentia Shevchenko (8-1) will face off against female MMA pioneer and Strikeforce veteran Jan Finny (8-10).

Check below for the results and total recap of Legacy Fighting Championship 39, which took place at the Houston Arena Theater in Houston, Tx.

Leonardo Leite def. Larry Crowe via technical knockout (referee stoppage) at 2:19 of Round 2

Round 2: Crowe came out more cautious than the first and landed some nice leg kicks. Both fighters mostly traded single shots, with Crowe overreaching in combination attempts. Leite was able to back up Crowe with shots until they clinched against the cage where he landed a nice knee to the body that clearly hurt Crowe. He followed it up with several more shots to the injured Crowe until the referee steps in and calls a stop to the contest. Crowe complains of a low blow and the reply shows the strike did hit the cup. It’s likely this outcome will be appealed.

Round 1: Crowe pushes the pace early coming forward with straight strikes. Leite had little trouble defending against the south paw, and made his intentions to take the fight to the ground. Leite didn’t show much striking except to set up his shots, but did land a couple good shot that hurt Crowe. He eventually worked Crowe to the ground and began to gain position before Crowe recovered for a moment but was quickly put back down with a hip throw. Leite was unable to capitalize this time as Crowe quickly rebounded and after both fighters vied for position against the cage broke apart and the round ended with a few shots thrown remarkably. Miletech scored it 10-9 Leite and we agree.
