Unlike other professional sports, there is no offseason in MMA. Week in and week out fight cards all over the world are taking place. Some weeks there will be major fight cards filled with big name fighters others not so much, but there are fights taking place every week.

Regardless of whether the fighters are household names or not, The MMA Corner will preview the best fight taking place during the week.

This week’s Fight of the Week is the Titan FC featherweight title fight between Desmond Green and Kurt Holobaugh.
On Friday, March 20, 2015, Titan FC heads to The Aeroplex at Brookley in Mobile, Ala., for Titan FC 33: Green vs. Holobaugh.

While three other titles will be up for grabs at Titan FC 33 the fight everyone is looking forward to seeing is the featherweight tilt between Green and Holobaugh. Green will be looking to defend his title for the first time while Holobaugh will be looking to make it five in a row.

A talented grappler by trade Holobaugh has amassed a 13-2 record in MMA with seven of his wins coming by way of submission. While Holobaugh’s ground game is his primary weapon his striking game has been rapidly advancing; as seen by his 15 second TKO of Lloyd Woodard at Titan FC 29 last April.

Green on the other hand isn’t the finisher that Holobaugh is, but his high pace, constant pressure style has proven to be every effective. Green fights with a wrestler’s mentality; he wants to wear his opponents down and break their wills.

The aspect of this fight to keep an eye on will be the ground game. Green is a talented wrestler with an effective top game, but two of his three career losses have come by way of submission. Holobaugh isn’t as strong a wrestler, but his submission game is deadly.
