If fans weren’t already excited for Bellator 138: Kimbo vs. Shamrock in June, they should be now.

Earlier this week, Bellator officials announced a lightweight contest between former champion Michael Chandler and the always exciting Derek Campos will be featured in the night’s co-main event leading up to the highly anticipated matchup.

Chandler (12-3), a former NCAA Division I All-American wrestler at the University of Missouri, will be looking to get back into the win column after dropping his last three bouts. This string of loss came after earning victories in his first 12 professional bouts, which includes wins of standout fighters Eddie Alvarez, Patricky Pitbull, Marcin Held and Rick Hawn under the Bellator MMA banner.

His efforts would culminate in earning the Bellator MMA, which he would go on to defend twice before dropping it to Alvarez in the pair’s rematch followed by back-to-back losses to current champion Will Brooks.

Campos (15-4), a 26-year-old Texas-based fighter, will enter this bout having gone 6-1 in his past seven overall contests. A professional fighter since 2009, Campos has fought five times under the Bellator MMA with his most recent being a violent knockout of former UFC veteran Estevan Payan just 31 seconds into their bout at Bellator 126.

Bellator 138 is currently scheduled to take place on June 19 live from the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Missouri. A heavyweight grudge match between internet superstar Kimbo Slice and UFC Hall of Famer Ken Shamrock will serve as the night’s headlining act.
