On Monday morning, Bellator MMA announced WWE superstar turned MMA standout Bobby “The Dominator” Lashley will look to avenge a 2012 decision loss to MMA veteran James Thompson as the pair meet on the main card of the upcoming Bellator 138 . The two heavyweights were originally scheduled to meet at Bellator 136 before Lashley was forced out with an injury. Thompson (20-14), an English import, will look to add to his six fight unbeaten streak. In his most recent effort, ‘The Colossus’ walked away with a first round TKO victory in his promotional debut against Eric Prindle at Bellator 121 lat June. This marked 18th career stoppage win, which includes submissions over Bob Sapp and Mariusz Pudzianowski as well as a TKO over former UFC veteran Don Frye. Lashley (12-2) started training in the grappling arts at age 12 and would go on to win several titles including three National Championships at Missouri Valley College, an NAIA National Championship, a CISM World Championship Silver Medal and two Armed Forces Wrestling Championships during his time in the U.S. Army. In addition to a professional wrestling career with stints in the WWE, ECW and TNA, Lashley began his MMA career in 2008, and he’s built an impressive career mark that includes Bellator MMA submission wins over Karl Etherington and Josh Burns. Bellator 138 is currently scheduled to take place on June 19 live from the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Missouri. A heavyweight grudge match between internet superstar Kimbo Slice and UFC Hall of Famer Ken Shamrock will serve as the night’s headlining act.
