On Saturday, April 24, 2015, at Madison Square Garden, a 39-years-old Wladimir Klitschko (64-3, 53 KOs), the reigning WBO/IBF/IBO/WBA (Super) and Ring Magazine Heavyweight Champion, successfully defended his titles against the previously undefeated challenger, American Bryant Jennings (19/1, 10 KOs). Klitschko won on all judges score cards on his way to a unanimous decision, with the scores coming in at 116-111, 116-111, and 118-109. This was Klitschko’s first fight in the US since he defeated Sultan Ibragimov to win the WBO heavyweight title at the same location back in 2008.

The performance was less than stellar, as the champ looked slow and struggled at times against the outsized Jennings. After several warnings from referee Michael Griffin for clinching before eventually being deducted a point in the 10th round. Despite continuing his clinching and holding into the 11th and 12th rounds, Griffin did not take away anymore points from Klitschko, however based on the score cards it would have made little different.
