Unlike other professional sports, there is no offseason in combat sports. Week in and week out fight cards all over the world are taking place. Some weeks there will be major fight cards filled with big name fighters others not so much, but there are fights taking place every week.

Regardless of whether the fighters are household names or not, The MMA Corner will preview the best fight taking place during the week.

This week’s Fight of the Week is the boxing superfight between Floyd Mayweather, Jr. and Manny Pacquiao.
Every once in a while in boxing there is a fight that transcends the sport; Mayweather vs. Pacquiao is that fight for this generation. Mayweather and Pacquiao are the two greatest boxers of their generation and on Saturday, May 2, 2015, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, they will finally step into the ring.

This fight is nearly six years in the making and when it is all said and done, it will be the most lucrative fight in boxing’s long and storied history. If the speculated numbers are correct then both fighters will be taking home nine figure paydays for their efforts in the ring on Saturday night.

Will Mayweather’s record remain perfect? Does either fighter have enough pop to knock the other out? Can Pacquiao’s pressure style throw Mayweather off his game? Will Mayweather be too technical for Pacquiao? These questions and more will be answered on Saturday night when boxing’s biggest stars finally collide.
