On Saturday, May 23, the UFC returns to the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. With two different title fights, Anothony Johnson takes on Daniel Cormier for the recently vacated light heavyweight belt and in the co-main event, Chris Weidman will try to defend his title for the third time against Brazilian vet Vitor Belfort.

Johnson (19-4) was originally scheduled to meet Jon Jones for the light heavyweight belt, but following an arrest for a hit and run the UFC stripped Jon Jones of his title and will be crowning a new light heavyweight champion Saturday night. Rumble has looked perfect since returning to the UFC last April after being cut in 2012 for tremendously missing weight for his bout against Vitor Belfort, winning all nine of his fights since then including the destruction of Alexander Gustaffson.

Cormier (15-1) gets the call for this fight on short notice after losing for the first time in his career in a hard fought decision to Jon Jones back in May for the light heavyweight title. Originally scheduled to face Ryan Bader, DC was pulled from that bout and will be participating in back-to-back fights for the light heavyweight title.

In the co-main event, middleweight champ Chris Weidman (12-0) will look to defend his title for the third time, since dethroning longtime kingpin Anderson Silva via KO. Weidman has since, defended the belt twice, including a rematch against Silva followed by a unanimous decision victory over Lyoto Machida. No stranger to Brazilians, Weidman will take on the always dangerous, Vitor Belfort. Belfort (24-10) comes in after being out of action for nearly a year and a half. After losing a title bid to Jon Jones in 2012, The Phenom has gone on a path of destruction, with three head kick stoppages over Dan Henderson, Luke Rockhold, and Michael Bisping, earning him the shot at Weidman.

Also Featured on the card, a lightweight bout between fan favorite Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone vs. John Makdessi,  a heavyweight bout between Travis Browne and Andrei Arlovski, and flyweights Joseph Benavidez vs. John Moraga.
