Bobby Green has been forced out of his scheduled lightweight bout against Al Iaquinta at UFC Fight Night 71 after suffering an injury in training camp. MMAFighting was the first to report the news. The two were expected to meet in the night’s co-main event.

This marks the third time Green (23-6), a former King of the Cage, TFA and WFC champion,  has been forced out of a scheduled bout with an injury. The man known as ‘King’ was looking to get back into the win column after suffering a decision loss to Edson Barboza at UFC Fight Night 57 in November. This setback snapped Green’s eight fight win streak, which included victories over Pat Healy, Jacob Volkman and former Strikeforce champion Josh Thomson.

There is currently no word on whether the UFC will give Iaquinta a replacement opponent.

UFC Fight Night 71 is set to take place on July 15 at the Valley View Casino Center in San Diego. A heavyweight contest between Frank Mir and Todd Duffee will serve as the main event.
