On Tuesday, a contest between a pair of 125-pound contenders in Ian McCall and Dustin Ortiz was officially added to UFC Fight Night 73 in Nashville. The Tennessean was the firs to report the news. McCall (13-5-1,) the former Tachi Palace Fights flyweight champion, previously defeated Ortiz by unanimous decision in their initial meetin under the TPC banner in 2011. In his most recent effort, ‘Uncle Creepy’ suffered a heart breaking decision loss John Lineker at UFC 183 in a bout many believed would determine the next number one contender. Prior to this setback, McCall earned back-to-back decision wins over Iliarde Santos and UFC veteran Brad Pickett. Ortiz (14-4) will also be looking to get back into he win column after suffering a decision loss to former title contender Joseph Benavidez in November. This setback snapped the Roufusport product’s two fight streak, both of which he earned by split decisoin. UFC Fight Night 73 is set to takes place August 8 at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville. A light heavyweight bout between former University of Tennesee football player Ovince Saint Preux and former title contender Glover Teixeira will serve as the main event.
