Bellator MMA and GLORY will join forces to bring fight fans a hybrid show  September 19 from the SAP Center in San Jose. The entire event will air on Spike TV. The announcement was made during a press conference leading up to Bellator 138 on Friday afternoon.

“I’m so proud and honored to bring this truly amazing event to my hometown of San Jose,” stated Bellator MMA President Scott Coker. “This mega-card will feature something for every combat sports fan- MMA legends, rising stars, a stacked tournament, plus many of the world’s best kickboxers. It will be an unforgettable night for the thousands in attendance and the millions watching at home.”

In the nights main event, reigning Bellator MMA light heavyweight champion Liam McGeary (10-0) will look to make his first title defense as he takes on UFC Hall of Famer and former light heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz (18-11).

The night will will also showcase a four-man, one-night light heavyweight tournament to determine the division’s next number one contender. The participants include the return of former title contenders Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal (15-4,) & Linton Vassell (15-4-1), former champion Emanuel Newton (25-8-1), and the newly signed Phil Davis (13-3), who will be making his Bellator Debut after departing from the UFC earlier this year.

First round pairings for the tournament, as well as further details on the tournament format will be announced shortly.

The event will also feature Glory Kickboxing bouts that will feature many of the best fighters in the world. Namely, Bellator MMA competitors Joe Schilling and Paul “Semtex” Daley. Opponents for Schilling and Daley, as well as additional kickboxing matchups will be announced shortly.
