UFC 189 may have all the hype for the weekend, but there is another event the day after that should have some fans excited.

If you have been following The Ultimate Fighter this season, you understand the hate between American Top Team and the Blackzilians. The Blackzilians jumped out to a commanding lead and it seemed that they would coast to an easy victory, but out of nowhere, ATT came back strong and won the show.

Now there is the season finale for $300,000 and TUF trophy. ATT decided to go with whom they call the “Blackzilians Killer” in Hayder Hassan. Hassan was undefeated on the show and won the last fight to secure the $200,000 for the first half of the show. The Blackzilians decided to go with Kamaru Usman who also had a very strong showing on the show.

The whole show, Usman and Hassan argued and had disagreements. Finally we will get to see them prove who is the better man on Sunday.

Other than TUF finale, there is a fight that is actually the main event, and a very good fight in itself.

Jake Ellenberger vs. Stephen Thompson will throw down in a five round welterweight bout.

Ellenberger is coming off of a round two submission victory over Josh Koscheck, but before that, Ellenberger lost three in a row against Rory MacDonald, Robbie Lawler, and Kelvin Gastelum. Ellenberger will be looking to show that he deserves to fight the top guys once again the division.

He is taking on Stephen Thompson who has had very good success in the UFC. Other than an early loss to Matt Brown, Thompson has won five fights in the UFC and is on a four fight win streak.

Ellenberger may have a hard fight, but he is always game when it comes to throwing down inside of the octagon.

Here are the keys to victory for Jake Ellenberger.

Use His Experience:

Thompson may have fought six times in the UFC, but other than fighting Matt Brown, Thompson does not have the big name fighters like Ellenberger. Ellenberger has fought the top guys in the division, and even though he lost, he still has that experience of fighting world-class fighters. Ellenberger needs to use that experience of fighting world-class fighters and show Thompson that he is the better fighter.

Mix It Up:

Jake Ellenberger is a well-rounded fighter and if he wants to walk away with a victory against Stephen Thompson on Sunday, he needs to mix up his attack. Ellenberger has KO power, but he needs to mix some things up on Sunday so he can keep Thompson guessing. Thompson also has KO power and will surely be looking to make a statement so if Ellenberger can have Thompson guessing, he will not be throwing the KO as easily.

Win The Striking Battle And Have The Better Chin:

It is no secret that both of these fighters are going to throw their hands on Sunday. Both fighters have KO power and both fighters can end the fight in a blink of an eye. Ellenberger needs to win the striking battle on Sunday, but he also needs to show he has the better chin. Both fighters will surely land some big shots so if Ellenberger can land more and survive the big shots form Thompson, he will on his way to a big victory for his career.
