On Thursday, July 30, UFC officials announced the light heavyweight contest between former title contender Anthony Johnson and British import Jimi Manuwa had been booked for the upcoming UFC 191 card in September.

Johnson (19-5) was originally schedule to face Jan Blachowicz before the UFC elected to make the change in opponents. was last seen suffering a third round submission loss at the hands reigning champion Daniel Cormier in their main event title fight at UFC 187. ‘Rumble’ previously earned his shot at the belt with an violent first round TKO over former title contender Alexander Gustafsson in the main event of UFC on FOX 14 in Sweden . This victory gave ‘Rumble’ wins in 11 of hist last 12, including nine straight. He will enter this bout with 13 careers stoppage wins all of which have ended by way of knockout, including a  UFC record four coming inside the opening minute.

Manuwa (15-1) was last seen earning decision win over Blachowicz at UFC Fight Night 64 in April. This marked his first appearance inside the Octagon since suffering his first professional loss at the hands of Gustafsson in the main even of UFC Fight Night 37.
