On Wednesday, the UFC announced the featherweight contest between Ricardo Lamas and Diego Sanchez had officially been added to The Ultimate Fighter: Latin America 2 Finale in November

This will mark Sanchez’s  first bout as a member of the featherweight division after years of competing as a welterweight and lightweight.

The winner of season one of the The Ultimate Fighter and former lightweight title contender, Sanchez (25-7) has not been seen inside the Octagon since his controversial decision win over Ross Pearson at UFC Fight Night 42 in June 2014. Since then ‘The Nightmare’ has struggled with injures before announcing his plan to drop to 145-pounds. Prior to his win over Pearson, Sanchez dropped back-to-back decision losses to former title contender Gilbert Melendez and Myles Jury.

Lamas (15-4), a UFC title contender will be looking to get back into the win column after suffering a first round TKO loss to Chad Mendes in April. Prior to this setback, ‘The Bully’ snapped Dennis Bermudez’s seven fight win streak when locked on a tight first round guillotine at UFC 180 in November.

The TUF Latin America 2 Finale is set to take place at the Arena Monterrey in Monterrey, Mexico. The welterweight contest between TUF 17 winner Kelvin Gastelum and Matt Brown will serve as the main event.
